Marshall 602 Engine Block

The engine block, sometimes referred to as a cylinder block, is the bottom end of an engine. Here, the crankshaft spins, the camshaft is held, and the pistons move in the cylinder bores. The cylinder head is placed on top of the engine block, which allows the pistons to move up and down and turn the crankshaft.

The Leyland 498 engine which is fitted in the Marshall 602 tractor does not have many problems, they are good engines, but the most common Marshall 602 engine block problems come from pitted liners, which cause mixing of the oil and water in the sump. Other common faults include a loose core plug, wear to the pistons and piston rings and a head gasket going. If you find an issue with your engine block, we stock a wide range of Marshall 602 engine block parts to help with repairs and restoration projects. Our parts and components are expertly quality control checked by our team in-house at Tractor Spare Parts Ltd to ensure longevity and performance upon installation.

As well as Marshall 602 engine block parts, we stock a wide variety of other Marshall engine parts including those for the cooling system, oil delivery, crankshaft, gaskets, and fuel systems. We make up engine kits specifically tailored to your engine, but for this we need your engine serial number – found on the top of the engine block (see here). Contact us today with this serial number and we can help you with the required parts.
