Leyland 272 Rear Window

The rear window on the Leyland 272 Quiet Cab plays a vital role in visibility, weather protection and cab integrity. Over time original windows often suffer from corrosion or poor sealing, leading to leaks, rust and reduced operator comfort — especially in wet conditions. A high-quality replacement window helps restore the cab’s appearance and function, making it an essential part of any restoration or maintenance project.

At Tractor Spare Parts Ltd, our Leyland 272 rear windows are manufactured in-house and laser cut locally in the UK, ensuring exact reproduction of the original frame design. To improve long-term performance, we have added two drainage holes in the rolled metal section to allow water to escape instead of collecting and causing rust at the bottom of the window frame. This thoughtful update retains original appearance while enhancing durability.

Correct sealing of the window depends on the glazing rubber used. We offer two different glazing rubber profiles tailored to the thickness of the glass being fitted:

  • Original glass (4.75mm thick)

  • Modern replacement glass (6mm thick)

This means you can choose the correct rubber seal whether your restoration is keeping original glass or replacing it with a modern thickness of glass.
To help customers install the glazing rubber correctly, we’ve included a step-by-step video guide that shows the correct technique and tools needed. This video is especially useful because glazing rubber is easier to fit when warm and should be pressed in carefully with the right tool:

Whether you’re replacing a cracked rear glass, refreshing seals during a full cab restoration, or upgrading to modern glass with the correct rubber, our rear windows are designed for precise fit, long life and strong performance.

At Tractor Spare Parts Ltd, all of our cab components are supported by award-winning customer service, recognised through multiple Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Awards — giving you expert technical advice and confidence in every purchase.
