A two-part POR-15 fuel tank treatment and sealing kit for restoring rusty and corroded metal fuel tanks and helping to seal small fuel leaks.
Suitable for a wide range of metal petrol and diesel tanks, including those fitted to classic and vintage tractors, cars, motorcycles, agricultural machinery, plant and other vehicles and machinery.
The kit contains:
Correct preparation of the fuel tank is essential before applying the products in this kit.
The tank should first be thoroughly cleaned and degreased to remove fuel residue, dirt, grease, loose rust and other contamination.
In our workshop, we have successfully used a pressure washer with TFR (Traffic Film Remover) diluted with water to thoroughly clean and degrease suitable tanks before treatment.
After cleaning, the POR-15 Metal Prep is used to treat and prepare the internal metal surface before application of the POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer.
The tank must be completely dry before the Fuel Tank Sealer is applied.
The tank must also be structurally sound. The sealer is designed to stop rust, corrosion and small fuel leaks; it should not be used as a substitute for structural repairs to a badly corroded or damaged fuel tank.
The first product supplied in the kit is used after the tank has been thoroughly cleaned and degreased.
POR-15 Metal Prep:
Danger: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Always read and follow the appropriate safety information before use.

After preparation with Metal Prep and once the tank is completely dry, the Fuel Tank Sealer is used to coat the internal surface of the tank.
It forms a strong, non-porous and flexible internal coating which helps protect the tank against further rust and corrosion.
Allow 96 hours drying time after application before returning the fuel tank to use.

This kit has applications far beyond any particular make or model and can be used for the restoration of suitable metal fuel tanks on:
For tractor applications, this includes metal fuel tanks fitted to many Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall tractors, as well as numerous other makes.
This treatment can be particularly useful when an original fuel tank is difficult or expensive to replace and is suffering from internal rust, corrosion, small pinholes or leaking seams, but remains structurally sound.
Correct cleaning, preparation, application and drying are important for successful fuel tank sealing.
POR-15 provides a detailed step-by-step fuel tank restoration guide and video showing the preparation and application process.
