BMC 2.8 engine kit with 5-ring 100mm pistons.

This engine overhaul kit is built to suit your individual engine application. There is not one engine kit that fits every BMC 3-cylinder 2.8 litre engine, so we will need either your engine serial number or the engine liner size before supplying the correct parts.

Please call or email us with your engine serial number before ordering, so we can identify and build the correct engine kit for your application.

The serial number of the BMC 3-cylinder engine is stamped on a machined face on the forward lower right-hand side of the cylinder block, beneath the fuel injection pump coupling. We have written a blog which explains the serial numbers and where to find them. You can read this blog here. 

You are looking for a serial number that is of similar format to 28T/1234/D1234 or 28DTD/1234/1234.

Engine kit contains:

• 3 x piston and pin
• 3 x piston ring set
• 3 x engine liner
• 3 x liner seal set
• 3 x liner shim at 0.003" (other sizes are available if you need them)
• 3 x small end bush (the small end bushes will need reaming after fitting)
• 1 x head gasket set, including valve stem seals
• 1 x bottom gasket set
• 1 x front crank seal
• 1 x rear crank seal, if required with the late engines
• 6 x tab washer
