Manufactured from high-quality annealed copper, this washer is designed to compress as the sump plug is tightened, creating a reliable oil-tight seal between the drain plug and the sump. Replacing the sealing washer whenever the engine oil is changed is good servicing practice and helps prevent oil leaks.
In addition to its use as a sump plug washer, AED172 is also used with the BTJ3654 temperature sender adaptor, where it replaces the original 2K5629 fibre washer on selected tractor models.
