ATJ3097 Fuel Sediment Bowl Assembly (Without Tap)

ATJ3097 is an improved replacement fuel sediment bowl assembly for selected Nuffield tractors. Unlike the original design, this version is manufactured without the integral fuel tap, eliminating one of the most common causes of fuel leaks on these tractors.

The original sediment bowls were fitted with a shut-off tap in the top casting. As these taps wear with age, they are often prone to persistent fuel weeping, even after replacing seals or attempting repairs. This improved design removes the tap altogether, providing a simpler, more reliable solution while retaining the original sediment bowl function.

Technical Notes

The sediment bowl forms the first stage of the tractor's fuel filtration system, allowing water and heavier contaminants to settle in the glass bowl before the fuel reaches the main fuel filter and injection system.

On the original assemblies, the shut-off tap incorporated into the top casting can become worn after many years of use. Even when new seals are fitted, these taps are well known for developing persistent fuel weeps that can be difficult to eliminate completely.

This improved replacement assembly removes the tap entirely, simplifying the design and eliminating one of the most common causes of leakage. For many owners, it provides a more reliable long-term solution while retaining the original function of the sediment bowl.
