27H2268 is a replacement clear glass fuel sediment bowl for selected Nuffield, Leyland and BMC applications. It is a direct replacement for damaged or broken glass bowls fitted to the original fuel sediment bowl assembly, allowing you to replace only the glass rather than the complete assembly.
The clear glass construction allows you to easily inspect the fuel for water, rust or other contaminants, helping to identify potential fuel system problems before they reach the fuel filter and injection system.

The fuel sediment bowl forms the first stage of the tractor's fuel filtration system. As fuel passes through the assembly, heavier contaminants and water settle in the glass bowl before the fuel reaches the main fuel filter and injection system.
Because the bowl is manufactured from glass, it can become chipped or cracked through accidental damage or overtightening of the retaining clamp. Fortunately, in many cases only the glass bowl needs replacing, allowing the original sediment bowl assembly to be retained.
The original sediment bowl assembly is fully serviceable. In addition to replacing the glass bowl, you can also renew the glass bowl gasket (27H1330), filter gauze (27H2272) and fuel tap cork seal (17H172) to restore the assembly to good working order.
If the original fuel tap has developed a persistent leak that cannot be cured by replacing the cork seal, many owners choose our ATJ3097 Improved Fuel Sediment Bowl Assembly. This redesigned assembly eliminates the fuel tap altogether, removing one of the most common causes of fuel weeping. Please note that the glass bowl used on the original assembly is not interchangeable with the ATJ3097 assembly.
Before ordering, always compare the dimensions of your existing bowl. The overall height and the depth of the locating dimple are particularly important, as different sediment bowl assemblies were fitted during production and some tractors may have been modified during their working lives.
