Marshall 604 Brake Parts

When operating your Marshall 604, the brakes should be one of the highest priorities in your restoration project. Washers, springs and friction plates must all be in tip-top condition to keep everyone safe and help you work as efficiently as possible. It is also critical that the correct brake fluid is used so that rubber seals do not perish. Marshall tractors use Dot 4 brake fluid, and the seals used in the braking system are designed to work using Dot 4, otherwise the seals can sell and perish causing blockages of the brake fluid system.
To ensure that our customers get the best possible experience, our Marshall 604 specialists work hard to build upon the original standards of our products. More modern brake friction material does not contain asbestos, so is safer to use and will provide better braking action.
When performing work on the braking system, you can find everything that you need in our range, from small features like our handbrake springs to larger parts such as our brake actuators. With the wet brake system is not very often that customers need to replace the brake actuators, or the friction discs. Usually there is a reduction in the travel and that results in the loss of braking. By finding out the gap that you have in your brake housing, you may be able to put in an extra intermediate disc to take up some of the gap and bring the brakes back. If you are unsure about this then you can consult the Workshop manual for the required brake settings, or give us a call and we can help you.
