18G8238 is a premium riveted dry brake disc for Nuffield and Leyland tractors fitted with dry disc braking systems. Manufactured using the correct friction material specification for these tractors, these brake discs have been designed to provide smooth, progressive braking performance and reliable service.
Although these discs are the same diameter as those fitted to certain JCB machines, they are not the same brake disc. Our discs are manufactured using the correct friction material compound and hardness specifically for the weight and braking characteristics of Nuffield and Leyland tractors. We do offer the brake discs for the JCB vehicles, so please contact us to order these.Â

If the brakes continue to grab after fitting new discs, or if the brake actuator is cracked, worn or damaged, the complete brake actuator should also be replaced.
If you would like to understand why brake discs and brake actuators have gained an unfair reputation on these tractors, and how to achieve the best braking performance, we recommend reading our blog:

Although these discs are physically the same size as certain JCB brake discs, they are manufactured from a different friction material. Using the correct material helps provide the braking characteristics intended for Nuffield and Leyland tractors.
For the best braking performance, we recommend inspecting and, where necessary, replacing the following components at the same time:
The dry brake system fitted to these tractors relies on the brake discs and brake actuators working together as a complete assembly. Simply replacing worn brake discs without inspecting the brake actuator may not resolve poor braking performance.
It is recommended that whenever the brake discs or brake linings are replaced, the brake actuator springs and balls are also renewed. These inexpensive components wear over time and replacing them can help reduce the risk of the brakes grabbing or locking during operation.
Many replacement brake discs available today are manufactured using friction material intended for other applications. Although they may be the correct dimensions, the friction characteristics are not always suitable for the lighter weight and braking system fitted to Nuffield and Leyland tractors.
Our brake discs are manufactured using the correct friction material specification for these tractors, helping to achieve smooth, progressive braking and dependable performance when fitted as part of a properly maintained braking system.
