37H1567 is a newly reproduced premium brake actuator (brake expander unit) for Nuffield and Leyland tractors fitted with dry brake discs. Also referred to as the brake actuating unit, this component has been reproduced after the previous supplier ceased manufacturing them, ensuring owners can continue to maintain and restore these classic tractors for many years to come.
Unlike many replacement brake actuators currently available, our actuator has been manufactured to the original specification, including the correct overall thickness of 32.5 mm. This is a critical dimension that allows the brake mechanism to operate correctly and helps achieve proper brake adjustment and braking performance.
This version is supplied as the complete assembly, including the operating rod (27H3498), adjusting nut and internal linkage, making it the ideal choice when replacing a complete brake actuator unit.

If your existing operating rod is still in good condition and can be reused, you may prefer our 37H1567/A Basic Brake Actuator, which is supplied without the operating rod and adjusting nut.

The brake actuator converts the movement of the brake linkage into the expanding action that forces the dry brake discs apart. Because this component is continually subjected to high loads, the operating faces, balls and internal components gradually wear over time, resulting in reduced braking efficiency and difficulty obtaining correct brake adjustment.
The overall thickness of the actuator is one of the most critical dimensions affecting brake performance. Many replacement units available today are manufactured thinner than the original specification, reducing the available movement within the brake assembly and making it difficult to achieve the correct brake adjustment.
Our brake actuator has been manufactured to the original 32.5 mm thickness, ensuring the brake mechanism operates as intended and providing improved brake performance when compared with undersized replacement units.
By supplying this version complete with the operating rod, adjusting nut and internal linkage, it provides a convenient ready-to-fit solution where the original operating rod has become worn, damaged or seized, eliminating the need to dismantle and transfer components from the old actuator.
