27H3498 is a replacement brake actuator operating rod supplied complete with the adjusting nut for selected Nuffield and Leyland tractors fitted with dry brake disc braking systems.
This operating rod connects the tractor's brake linkage to the brake actuator, allowing the movement of the brake pedal to be transferred to the brake expander unit. It is the ideal replacement when the original operating rod has become worn, damaged, bent or seized through corrosion.
Our operating rod can also be used to convert the 37H1567/A Basic Brake Actuator into the equivalent of the 37H1567 Complete Brake Actuator, allowing customers to upgrade their existing basic unit if required.

The brake actuator operating rod transfers movement from the external brake linkage into the brake actuator, allowing the brake expander unit to operate the dry brake discs. As these rods are exposed beneath the tractor, they can become bent, heavily corroded or seize over time, making brake adjustment difficult or preventing the brakes from operating smoothly.
Replacing a worn operating rod at the same time as the brake actuator can help restore correct brake adjustment and ensure reliable operation of the complete braking system.
If you already own our 37H1567/A Basic Brake Actuator, this operating rod and adjusting nut can be fitted to create the equivalent of our 37H1567 Complete Brake Actuator, providing a convenient upgrade without replacing the entire assembly.
