ATJ7660 Brake Actuator Dust Cover

ATJ7660 is a replacement rubber brake actuator dust cover for selected Nuffield and Leyland tractors fitted with dry brake disc braking systems. This rubber boot helps protect the brake actuator from dirt, dust, water and other contaminants, helping to extend the service life of the brake components and maintain reliable brake operation.

Replacing a damaged or perished dust cover is an inexpensive way to help protect the brake actuator and reduce premature wear of the internal components.

Important Information

This rubber dust cover is suitable for tractors fitted with dry brake disc braking systems.

It is designed to fit over the brake actuator operating rod, helping to prevent dirt, dust and moisture from entering the brake housing and contaminating the brake actuator.

Technical Notes

The brake actuator dust cover forms an important seal between the brake actuator and the outside environment. Its purpose is to prevent dirt, water and abrasive dust from entering the brake housing where they can accelerate wear of the actuator, springs and balls.

Over time, the original rubber cover can become hard, cracked or split through age and exposure to the elements. Once damaged, contaminants can enter the brake assembly, increasing wear and reducing the service life of the brake components.

Whenever the brake actuator is removed for servicing or replacement, it is good practice to inspect the dust cover and replace it if there are any signs of deterioration.
