27H1330 is a replacement fuel sediment bowl gasket for selected Nuffield, Leyland and BMC applications. This gasket seals between the glass sediment bowl and the aluminium filter head, helping to prevent fuel leaks while maintaining an effective seal around the bowl.
Over time, the original gasket can harden, shrink or become damaged through age and repeated removal of the sediment bowl during routine servicing. Replacing the gasket whenever the bowl is removed is good practice and can help prevent fuel weeping.
This gasket replaces the original part number 17H175.

The fuel sediment bowl is the first stage of the fuel filtration system, allowing water and heavier contaminants to settle before the fuel reaches the main fuel filter and injection system. The gasket forms the seal between the glass bowl and the filter head, making it an important component in preventing fuel leaks.
Whenever the sediment bowl is removed for cleaning or servicing, the gasket should be carefully inspected. If it has become hard, flattened, cracked or damaged, replacing it is recommended to ensure a reliable seal when the bowl is refitted.
If fuel continues to leak from the fuel tap itself, rather than around the glass bowl, the 17H172 fuel tap cork seal may require replacement.
