27H2272 is a replacement fuel sediment bowl gauze filter for selected Nuffield tractors. Fitted inside the original fuel sediment bowl assembly, this fine gauze filter provides the first stage of fuel filtration by helping to remove dirt, rust particles and other contaminants before the fuel reaches the lift pump, fuel filter and injection system.
Replacing a damaged or blocked gauze filter during routine servicing helps maintain good fuel flow and provides additional protection for the fuel system.
This filter also replaces part number 17H174.

The fuel sediment bowl provides the first stage of the tractor's fuel filtration system. As fuel enters the sediment bowl, heavier contaminants and water settle into the glass bowl while the gauze filter helps prevent larger particles from continuing through the fuel system.
Over time, the gauze can become blocked with dirt, rust or fuel deposits, restricting fuel flow and reducing the effectiveness of the sediment bowl. During routine servicing, the gauze should be cleaned and inspected. If it has become damaged, corroded or cannot be cleaned satisfactorily, it should be replaced.
When overhauling the original sediment bowl assembly, it is good practice to inspect the glass bowl (27H2268), glass bowl gasket (27H1330) and fuel tap cork seal (17H172) at the same time. Renewing these inexpensive service items together helps restore the assembly to reliable working condition.
